Saskatoon will be lit up with some major events this weekend, including some big concerts and a classic car show.
Rock 102’s Show & Shine kicks off Friday, and hundreds of custom cars, trucks and motorcycles will line the city’s streets all weekend.
On Sunday, the Downtown Car Show will feature an abundance of cars over fourteen city blocks from First to Fourth avenues and between 20th and 23rd streets.
Car owners who have not registered for the event but are still hoping to show off their ride can arrive on Sunday between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to get a space.
More than 50 food trucks and vendors will also be present throughout the weekend, offering a wide variety of food and treats.
The Show & Shine has been running since 1982, attracting more than 40,000 people a year to the summer event. Rock 102 is the sister station to 650 CKOM.
Another classic Saskatchewan festival also kicks off on Friday as Rock the River gets underway. The three-day event takes place at the popular Bessborough Gardens, and will feature a number of classic rock bands lighting up the stage.
Tickets for Friday’s show, featuring The Stampeders, Trooper, and Nazareth, are already sold out.
Saturday’s headliners are The Box, Lighthouse, Harlequin, and Foghat. Sunday’s performers are Toque, Prism, Aldo Nova and Great White. Tickets are still available for both Saturday and Sunday.
The gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
