The Saskatchewan Roughriders are still expecting kick-off to happen as scheduled on Friday, despite smoke and an air quality advisory from Environment Canada.
As of noon Friday, the team was telling people that the team and league were actively monitoring air quality and the forecasting at that time showed the air quality was expected to improve through the day.
The air quality index had shown a 10 around 3 a.m. in Regina on Friday, but by noon it had improved to a 6.
The CFL weather guidelines say a game will be stopped and players taken off the field if the air quality gets to an 8 or higher.
Kick-off for the Riders’ game against the Alouettes at Mosaic Stadium was set for 7 p.m.

The air quality advisory for the City of Regina on Friday said wildfire smoke was causing poor air quality and reduced visibility.
In the advisory Environment Canada warned that everyone is at risk, though people outdoors and those involved in strenuous outdoor exercise were more likely to be impacted. It suggested people limit time outdoors and consider rescheduling or cancelling outdoor sports, activities and events.
