A 59-year-old Saskatoon man was hospitalized with serious injuries on Monday after he was stabbed and assaulted with a golf club.
The incident marks the second alleged golf club attack in Saskatoon in as many days.
According to police, officers were called to 21st Street West at around 6 p.m. for a report that a man had been stabbed.

“Upon arrival, the suspects had already fled the scene and officers located and spoke with the 59-year-old male victim; he told officers that he had been in a physical altercation with one of the suspects when a second male began assaulting him,” the Saskatoon Police Service explained in a statement.
“The victim stated one of the males used a golf club.”
The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics before he was taken to hospital.
“The victim described the first suspect as male, wearing light clothing, a backpack, possibly a grey tank top, and grey sweatpants,” police said. “He described the second suspect as a shorter male wearing dark clothing and possibly a ball cap.”
Anyone with information that could help the case was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Man arrested after golf club assault on Sunday
According to police, a separate incident involving a golf club occurred on Sunday morning.
Officers were called to Walmer Road at around 11 a.m. after the alleged victim reported that a man was swinging a golf club while “confronting the complainant.” While police were searching the area, a second call came in saying a man was intimidating people with a golf club on 20th Street West.
“Upon police arrival, officers observed the suspect in an altercation with a male victim; the suspect then noticed police and began to flee on foot,” the police service said.
Police said the 39-year-old man was arrested after a short foot chase and a brief struggle. He’s now facing assault charges.
