Saskatoon Police Service had a busy time this past weekend dealing with a number of stabbings.
Police said in a news release on Monday that the first incident happened just after midnight on Saturday when officers were called to the 100 block of Avenue Q North for a report of a stabbing.
Police said they had been told that a man had been stabbed and the suspect had fled the scene. They found the injured man, who was then taken to hospital where the injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, they said. Investigation is ongoing.
Then, around 4:40 a.m. the same morning, police were called to the 500 block of Avenue X South for a report of a man was bleeding outside a building.
Officers found a man covered in blood, who told police he was assaulted with a machete. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and police said they believed the suspect and victim were known to each other.

Police got little respite before they were called around 6:50 a.m. to the 1800 block of 22nd Street West after receiving a report that a woman had been assaulted.
Officers found the woman with a stab wound. She was taken to hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was located by police, but then fled.
Police said that shortly after, officers heard screaming from a nearby parking lot, where they found found a relative of the injured woman in a physical fight with the suspect.
The suspect was then arrested and police said a 14-year-old male youth is facing charges relating to aggravated assault and breaching court ordered conditions.
Police said they then found that another male youth was involved in the assault and a warrant has been issued for a 13-year-old male youth for aggravated assault, and breaching court ordered conditions.
The two youths were also found to be the suspects in a separate assault from the same morning. Police provided no further details about this assault and whether it was related to the earlier stabbings.
Investigation is ongoing by the serious assault unit.
Then on Sunday police were called to the 200 block of 1st Avenue South around 5:30 p.m. after a 16-year-old was stabbed. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police used video evidence to get a a description of the suspect, who was arrested later that night. A 17-year-old male is now facing charges of aggravated assault.
