When it comes to the Saskatoon Ex, trying everything may get a little pricey.
Families looking to save cash but still want a fun time should consider the petting zoo.
Tons of cute and friendly animals can be found at the free petting zoo located by Kidsville.
For a few extra dollars, visitors can buy a cone full of treats to hand out to the animals.
A fan favourite this year was a few surprise guests who had not been to the exhibition before was an overflow of bunnies!
Glenda Fairbairn, a volunteer at the petting zoo, uses her summer holidays to help her brother run the petting zoo. Fairbairn loves to see kids’ excited faces as they enter the tent.
“Some city kids never get to see these animals, and so it’s really great to see them and how they laugh. It’s just fun to see,” said Fairbairn.
Fairbairn favourite animal at the petting zoo this year is the baby goats.
“The bunnies are really, really popular this year. The pigs are popular and usually the mini donkey,” said Fairbairn, she added all the animals have been well received.
Jen Betts brought her children Ellie and Mackay to visit the petting zoo.
“They love seeing animals often… (they love) the horses and feeding the animals I would say. They love when the animals lick them and bite straw from them, that’s their favourite thing I would say,” said Betts.
