A 26-year-old Saskatoon man is facing a long list of criminal charges after allegedly ramming RCMP vehicles outside a business in Kindersley.
According to the RCMP, the pursuit began when officers got a report of a fuel theft at a local business at around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday.
“Investigation determined a truck filled up with diesel and left without paying,” the RCMP explained in a statement. “The truck was displaying a license plate reported as stolen in Calgary on July 29.”

About an hour after the fuel theft was reported, officers found the truck at a different business in Kindersley. But when the police attempted to block the driver in, he allegedly rammed two police vehicles “causing significant damage” before fleeing.
The alleged driver of the truck, 26-year-old Donovan Straightnose, was arrested in Alberta by Hanna RCMP officers on Monday.
He’s been charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, failure to stop at the scene of an accident, failure to stop for police, possession of the proceeds of crime, and failure to comply with a release order.
His court date is pending, the Mounties noted.
