On Monday, at a business in Yorkton, the Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team executed a search warrant as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
A 23-year-old man was arrested at the business. Later on, officers did a search of a rural property south of Yorkton in the RM of Wallace.
RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle leaving the rural property. They arrested a woman, but she was released without charges.
A 46-year-old man was arrested with the aid of a Remote Piloted Aircraft System that gave his location to officers.
Officers located a man who had been kidnapped. He was severely injured and forcibly confined inside a barn. Medical support was provided and he was then transported to hospital.
In total, officers seized:
- an explosive device with detonator;
- approximately 161 grams of methamphetamine;
- 14 firearms;
- ammunition;
- drug trafficking paraphernalia; and
- a sum of cash.
RCMP said a man from Laval, QC was also charged.
Saskatchewan RCMP are continuing to investigate, but said “The explosive device will be disposed of safely by the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Explosives Disposal Unit.”
