A sinkhole that formed after an apparent water main break in Saskatoon appeared to mostly swallow a truck on Thursday.
The sinkhole, which formed at the intersection of Fourth Avenue North and Queen Street, was blocked off on Friday morning, though the hole had not yet been filled.
According to the City of Saskatoon, the broken water main knocked out water service to the 600 block of Fourth Avenue North and several adjacent addresses.
“Affected addresses should review their yellow drinking water advisory door hanger. After repair, water should be boiled before consuming until green water advisory lifted door hanger arrives,” the city said in a service alert.
“Affected residents are invited to use the shower facilities at the nearest City leisure centre. Please show proof of address with a drivers license or utility bill for access.”
