There is now a GoFundMe for the seven-year-old who was selling lemonade in her front yard and was robbed by two teenage boys on July 22, 2024.
“This is super scary for a seven-year-old little girl,” Melanie Tucker, a family friend who organized the fundraiser, told the Evan Bray show on Wednesday.
“Maddy was in tears,” Tucker said about the incident she called traumatizing for the girl.
Saskatoon Police arrested the 14-year-old and 16-year-old who took juice, money and candy.
Tucker said the police were able to return the stolen money to Maddy.
Maddy was born with 15 congenital defects at birth, and in her short seven years she’s had several medical procedures to repair those defects, said Tucker.

Tucker said she created the fundraiser to help the family and to “show Maddy that there are still kind and good people in this world.”
“Maddy has some very serious medical conditions and has gone through many difficult procedures,” said Tucker. She wrote Maddy has faced all her adversities with a positive attitude.
According to the GoFundMe, Maddy “had just bought and painted her lemonade stand and was excited to have lemonade sales.”
She was saving up to start her own business.
Madison and her mom wrote a book bringing people along on her journey through a day in surgery. From preparations to recovery to help calm people’s fears of the unknown.
