Every ticket bought for one of the two Dream Homes in the STARS Lottery is a life saved.
650CKOM was invited to tour the Saskatoon 4 bed and 3.5 bathroom home worth more than $1.5 million. The 3,300-square-foot house features a stunning black-and-white theme with cozy bedrooms and great entertainment spaces.
In a release, STARS said their air ambulance does approximately nine missions daily and handles more than 36 thousand calls per year.
STARS introduced their VIP (Very Important Patient) Bonnie Fortin, a woman who was saved by the quick work done by their staff.
“The doctor made a mistake and severed my iliac vein, which is a major vein in my pelvis.
“I was in Swift Current at that time and the doctors there didn’t have the tools (to) repair me, so STARS was dispatched… I was running out of blood and they picked up blood on the way.” STARS noted blood is available now on their air ambulances.
“If I did not have STARS, I am certain I would have died.”
With donations made to the STARS lottery, the organization can improve many parts of its process. This includes new cutting-edge technology, training, and upgrades to the Emergency Link Centre so paramedics can respond and transport faster.
The Dream Homes in Saskatoon and Regina are just one of the many prizes to win in. STARS connects and works with their community to provide critical care missions throughout the province.
The Saskatoon show home can be viewed on Thursdays and weekends over the summer.
The deadline to buy STARS Lottery tickets is Thursday, August 1st at 11:59 p.m.
