A 61-year-old boater from Buffalo Narrows was found dead last week after his boat was discovered idling and empty on Peter Pond Lake.
According to the RCMP, police learned about the missing boater on Friday, and searched areas along the shoreline and the water with help from local residents and conservation officers.
“On July 6, 2024, the body of the adult male was located in the water,” the RCMP said in a statement.

He’s been identified as a 61-year-old man from Buffalo Narrows, and police said his family has been notified.
“Buffalo Narrows RCMP thanks all those who assisted in the search.”
Peter Pond Lake is located in northern Saskatchewan, adjacent to the community of Buffalo Narrows.
Last week, a teen boy was found dead on Helene Lake after his kayak tipped over. The RCMP also assisted with that search effort.
