Federated Co-operatives Limited is experiencing service disruptions at various locations in the prairies due to a “cybersecurity incident.”
On Wednesday, Sherwood Co-op said on Facebook that its cardlock fueling stations were down, as was its website — which was still down as of Thursday evening.
Kinderley and District Co-op also reported outages at its locations.
In an email to 980 CJME on Thursday, Co-op said the incident is impacting internal and customer-facing systems at local retail Co-ops as well as at cardlock fuel locations.
“As a precaution we have shut down some of our systems and brought in third party experts. An investigation is underway,” said Brad DeLorey, director of communications and public affairs.
“We regret that this outage has occurred and we thank Co-op members and customers for their patience as our teams work to resolve the issue.”
Kindersley Co-op said it encouraged customers to fuel up at the Kindersley Co-op C-store, and said commercial charge accounts can make fuel arrangements with the Petroleum Department at the Kindersley Home Centre.
Sherwood Co-op said its gas bars are operating as normal, but people might have issues accessing its other websites. However, Sherwood said users can still access information through the Co-op app.
