A 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a fatal collision that killed a Saskatoon high school student.
Sixteen-year-old Sheryaar Amir, a Grade 10 student at Evan Hardy Collegiate, was the passenger who was killed in the April 14 crash. Two other teens were sent to the hospital.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, a 2008 Honda Civic was traveling east in the 4200 block of Taylor Street near Weyakwin Drive when the car struck a pole at high speed and flipped over.
Police said driver impairment was not a factor.
As a result of the investigation, the 15-year-old driver has been charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing death.
He made his first court appearance on Wednesday.
