Saskatchewan RCMP said the abandoned vehicle was found at Pine Cree Regional Park.
In a news release, RCMP said the vehicle was a white 2018 Mercedes GLC – believed to be owned by 55-year old Astrid Schiller who allegedly abducted her three children last December.
Astrid and her three missing children – Leon, 12-years-old, Christopher, 11-years-old, and Thomas, 9-years-old – were not with the vehicle and have not been located.
On June 16, Manitoba RCMP said the woman was arrested at the Canada-U.S. border crossing near Boissevain on a warrant of child abduction from Durham Regional Police in Ontario.
The children appeared unharmed and were taken into care.
Astrid was later released from custody as the warrant was not extended into Manitoba.
The following day, RCMP received a report that the three children were no longer in care where they were staying in Forest, Man., and were reported missing.
Astrid and her children are believed to be staying at different campgrounds and parks.
RCMP do not have information about a vehicle they may be driving or direction of travel.
The outstanding warrant of arrest for child abduction has not been extended into the province of Saskatchewan.
An Amber Alert has also not been issued as there is no evidence to determine the children are in imminent danger.
The RCMP are seeking the public’s help to report any sightings of or interactions with Astrid and or her three children.
RCMP determined that Astrid may have been in Assiniboia at a business on 1st Avenue West around 7:00 a.m. June 17.
If you saw or spoke with her, contact police by calling 310-RCMP.
