Unrelated firearm incidents around Saskatoon have led to a multitude of people being arrested.
On the evening of June 20, police arrived on the 400 block of Avenue T South to find a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman on the ground being restrained in front of a house. The man and woman allegedly approached people in the front yard with a firearm. A struggle ensued and the occupants secured the suspect who had an imitation handgun. The suspects were not known to the occupants of the home. The boy received four charges while the woman received one.
Thirty minutes later at 9 p.m., there was a report of a man armed with a handgun at Broadway Avenue and 10th Street East. He also was found to have an imitation handgun. The 20-year-old has been charged with unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Later in the night, during proactive enforcement in the area of 20th Street West and Avenue D South officers located a wanted suspect. The 26-year-old man was found to have a loaded sawed-off rifle and ammunition.
