After, at first rejecting the provincial government’s offer, the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) is now considering binding arbitration for its collective bargaining agreement.
On Tuesday, the STF announced it is talking to its members about binding arbitration.
After a second ‘no’ vote on a government contract offer from teachers, the STF and government went back to the table. An impasse was quickly declared when the STF’s bargaining committee rejected binding arbitration.
The STF said, on the weekend, the government came back with a revised offer to include class complexity-accountability framework and wages in the binding arbitration.
Now, the STF said it is consulting with teachers about how to move forward, offering two options, one of which includes binding arbitration.
The final decision on this is expected to be announced Friday afternoon.
