Police in Saskatoon are looking for the knife that may have killed Glen Lennie.
Police found the 29-year-old Lennie with life-threatening stab wounds in the 800 block of 22nd Street West at around 3 a.m. on Monday. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, and police said an autopsy confirmed his death was a homicide.
Two men – both age 29 – have been charged in the case. One is facing a charge of second-degree murder, while the other has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. Both were scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
On Wednesday, police appealed to the public for help locating the missing knife.
“Investigators with the Major Crime Section are requesting public assistance from anyone living or working in the area within the perimeter of 22nd Street West, 18th Street West, Avenue H South, and Avenue J South,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
“Residents and business owners within this area are asked to thoroughly inspect their property for a knife that is believed to have been discarded following the homicide.”
Anyone who finds the knife – or who has information that could help the case – was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Lennie’s killing represents the city’s 10th homicide case of 2024, police noted.
