Saskatchewan RCMP officers have arrested a man who allegedly fled from the scene of an officer-involved shooting in Niverville, Manitoba overnight.
The RCMP asked the public to be on the lookout for 29-year-old David Frank Burling or his vehicle, a green Subaru Crosstrek with Manitoba plate LJB 238 or LMJ 710.
Police initially said his vehicle was believed to be headed west on Highway 22, possibly to the area of Fort Qu’Appelle. In an update issued early Wednesday afternoon, the RCMP said the green Subaru may be in or headed to the Yorkton area.

Burling was found during a traffic stop near Springside at around 1:30 p.m., the RCMP said. He was arrested, along with another female occupant of the vehicle.
According to police, Burling was travelling in a silver vehicle, not the Subaru initially reported.
“Saskatchewan RCMP continues to ask members of the public to call 310-RCMP if they see the Subaru. Do not approach it,” the RCMP said.
“These arrests come after an extensive search that involved multiple Saskatchewan RCMP detachments and units, as well as the Manitoba RCMP, the Protection and Response Team from the Province of Saskatchewan and the CN Police.”
The Mounties said further updates will be provided “by the appropriate agencies as they become available.
