Hundreds of classic cars will be shining brightly in downtown Saskatoon this August during the 42nd edition of Rock 102’s Show & Shine Weekend.
The annual summer staple is back this year, running from August 16 to 18. In addition to the car show on Aug. 18, the weekend will include Rock the River, Saskatchewan’s classic rock festival, and the Show & Shine Night Out at the Races at the Sutherland Automotive Speedway.
“The weekend is loaded with so many awesome events,” said Rock 102 morning hosts Sheri and Woody.
“It’s always incredible to see the streets downtown lined with classic, antique, muscle, hot rod and custom vehicles at the Downtown Car Show.”
The Show & Shine Weekend has been a part of summer in Saskatoon since 1982. The event boasts the largest outdoor car show in western Canada, which always features hundreds of classic and custom cars, trucks and bikes, drawing visitors from across the province and beyond.
The vehicles will line 14 city blocks downtown, and there’s no fee for participating. Car clubs can reserve spots online, and owners can show off their vehicles for no charge.
