RCMP officers in Maidstone are using drones as part of the search for a missing 28-year-old man.
According to police, Serayne Kematch was last seen on foot in the RM of Britannia near the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 17 on April 10.
The RCMP said aerial drones – referred to by police as remote piloted aircraft systems – are now being used “to conduct thorough searches of the areas where Serayne was last seen and may have travelled to.”
Kematch was described as five-foot-nine in height, weighing 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black pants and both a grey hoodie and a black hoodie. Police said he might be wearing “only one brown dress shoe.”
He also has a cross tattoo on his forearm, the Mounties added.

Police are asking anyone who captured video footage in the area to share it with investigators.
“Maidstone RCMP continue to ask members of the public who may have driven in the area to check any dash cameras from between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on April 10 for signs of Serayne. If there is video of any pedestrians on your camera footage, please call Maidstone RCMP at 310-RCMP,” the Mounties said in a statement.
“Investigators also ask if you reside or own property in the area, please check any outbuilding for signs of Serayne, such as clothing or other items.”
Two types of drones were recently rolled out to every RCMP detachment in Saskatchewan. Each detachment has use of a multi-rotor drone for short-range work, along with a fixed-wing drone that can cruise at 90 kilometres per hour for up to seven hours.
