Sask Entertainment Group (SEG) is gearing up to give the Saskatoon Blades the best home-ice advantage possible as the clock ticks closer to Game 7 with the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The Blades’ organization wants a sold-out SaskTel Centre on Tuesday night as the team plays in its biggest game since 1994, with a trip to the WHL Championship Series on the line.
The Blades announced that over 10,000 tickets have been sold for Game 7 as of Monday afternoon.

“Phones are ringing off the hook,” said SEG president Geoff Sarjeant. “I think everybody is excited to see an amazing game. Every game so far has been great, and it looks like we’re heading close to a sellout.”
The last time SaskTel Centre sold out for a Blades game was last season when the Blades defeated the Regina Pats 1-0 in Game 7 of their opening-round series. That turned out to be Connor Bedard’s final game in the WHL before he was selected first overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
To sell-out on a Tuesday night, Sarjeant suggests a few things have to happen, especially since kids are playing sports and it’s a school night.
“Maybe the bad weather is going to help us,” he said. “Ball or soccer might be cancelled for tomorrow, so more people will have the opportunity to come out and see.”
Showers are expected throughout the day on Tuesday in Saskatoon.
If the Blades can pull out a victory, Sarjeant suggested that Game 1 of the final would be played on Friday night and that they’re ready to meet the demand.
With a capacity crowd expected, Sarjeant has one critical piece of advice for anyone planning to be at SaskTel Centre.
“Leave early,” he stated. “I think it’s well documented that it takes a long time to get people into the parking lot and into the game.”
He suggested arriving by 6 p.m. to ensure there’s plenty of time to find seats ahead of the 7 p.m. game.
