Two separate incidents at Midtown mall on Monday saw a woman hit over the head with a pipe and a security guard assaulted by an intoxicated man.
According to police, the first incident happened at around 7 a.m. on Monday when officers were dispatched to the mall on First Avenue South for a weapons call.
“While (en) route to the call, officers received an update that a female had been hit with a metal pipe,” police explained in a statement.
“Upon arrival, police were able to obtain video footage and identify the suspect; officers were then able to locate and arrest the suspect a short time later.”

A 42-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges of assault with a weapon and failing to comply with court-ordered conditions as a result.
At around 5:30 p.m. the same day, police got a call about an intoxicated man at the mall.
“Upon arrival, officers found security guards already had the suspect in custody; after further investigation officers learned the suspect had assaulted one of the security guards,” police explained.
The 55-year-old Saskatoon man was charged with assault, police said.
