A 29-year-old man suffered several cuts and a stab wound after he was allegedly attacked by a partner over the weekend.
According to police, officers were called to an apartment building on Aird Street for reports of what police described as “intimate partner violence” just after 10 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, the officers found the 29-year-old victim suffering from a number of cuts on his body.
“After entering an apartment suite, officers found the suspect tending to wounds on his hands,” police said in a statement. “As a result, a 27-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault.”

The case didn’t end there, however.
Police said officers were called to Royal University Hospital on Sunday afternoon after a patient at the hospital turned up with a stab wound.
“Upon arrival, it was found that it was the same 29-year-old man with a stab wound from the assault the night before,” police said. “Officers are now working to amend the charges.”
