A third person has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a death in Saskatoon’s Riversdale neighbourhood.
According to police, a 48-year-old man was killed on Feb. 17 at a home on Avenue I South. The victim, suffering from a gunshot wound, was rushed to hospital where he died shortly after his arrival.
The first arrest came when the RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team arrested a 37-year-old man in North Battleford on April 3. While he was wanted on a warrant for breaching probation, police said he was charged with murder after officers connected him to the case. A second man, age 34, was arrested and charged by Saskatoon police the following day.
On Monday, police announced the arrest of a third man, age 36. While few details were shared, police said he was scheduled to make a court appearance Monday afternoon.
The case is the city’s third murder investigation of 2024.
