Police in Saskatoon are warning residents not to fall for a text scam making the rounds.
“The scam sends a text message to people claiming their vehicle was detected speeding by a camera. It then offers the user a chance to pay the ticket online,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.

“Residents are being advised to block the number and ignore the text. Do not click the link or make any payments to this website.”
The police service emphasized that it never sends texts regarding any kind of payments.
Anyone who has been a victim of a scam or fraud was advised to report it to police, and the messages themselves can be reported to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
