A tire deflation device and a police dog brought a chase in Saskatoon to an end early Tuesday morning.
According to police, officers tried to stop a vehicle on Fairlight Drive just after 2 a.m. because they believed the man behind the wheel had a weapon.
The driver took off, police said, and a tire deflation device was used to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued on Highway 219 despite the tire damage.

The vehicle was found in a ditch beside the highway soon after, and a police dog tracked the 33-year-old driver to a wooded area where he was arrested.
“A search of the vehicle located 25g of cocaine, 18g of methamphetamine, 12g of cannabis, along with a prohibited weapon, ammunition, and other drug paraphernalia,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
The driver is now facing charges of dangerous driving, evading police, possession of a prohibited weapon, breaching court orders, and several drug charges.
