A 21-year-old Saskatoon man facing a second-degree murder charge is now facing four gun charges as well.
Police announced the new charges on Tuesday in an update to a case that began over the weekend.
On Saturday morning, officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Avenue K North in the city’s Westmount neighbourhood for a call about an injured man. At the scene, police found a 48-year-old Saskatoon man dead from a gunshot wound.
Police later identified and arrested the 21-year-old suspect, and said he and the victim were known to each other.
According to police, the case marks Saskatoon’s second homicide of the year.
Police said the alleged killer made his second court appearance on Monday.
