Police in Saskatoon have tracked down a Ford U-Haul truck that officers were looking for in connection with a murder case.
A media release didn’t say where the truck was found or what its discovery means to the case.
On Tuesday, the police service said officers were searching for the cargo truck with an Arizona licence plate in connection with an investigation that began on Saturday on Lisgar Avenue.
Police were called to that location for a reported aggravated assault, and found a man dead inside a house. His identity and cause of death weren’t released, but police said it’s the city’s first homicide of 2024.
A 32-year-old woman has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the man’s death.
The case is also under investigation by Saskatchewan’s Serious Incident Response Team because an officer fired their gun while executing a search warrant at the home. A 34-year-old man was injured and taken to hospital as a result.
Police said the truck was found on Tuesday afternoon, and thanked the public for helping with the search.
