A 32-year-old woman has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a man’s death early Saturday in Saskatoon’s Pacific Heights neighbourhood.
It’s the city’s first murder case of 2024.
Police said officers responded to a house in the 600 block of Lisgar Avenue for a call about an aggravated assault. When they arrived, officers found a man dead inside the home.
The man’s identity wasn’t released, although police said his name could be made public after an autopsy that’s to be held Tuesday. Police also didn’t release the cause of the man’s death.
Saskatchewan’s Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is involved in the case as well, because a Saskatoon police officer fired their gun during the incident.
Police said officers were executing a search warrant at the house when the officer fired their gun. A 34-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital.
