Shoppers at a Saskatoon mall on Tuesday witnessed police use a stun gun to take down an uncooperative suspect.
Shortly before 3:00 p.m., members of the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) guns and gangs unit were attempting to arrest a suspect known to be in violation of court-imposed conditions inside Midtown Common.
According to police, a conducted energy weapon was deployed during a fight between the officer and 19-year-old man who had ignored police commands. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
In addition to breaching his court-imposed conditions, the man is also charged with assaulting a police officer.
