8:30 – Yesterday was the first day of the first inquest into the mass casualty event that happened on James Smith Cree Nation and in the nearby village of Weldon. Lisa Schick, 980 CJME senior reporter, is in Melfort. She tells us what we might expect this first week of the inquest.

9:00 – Sherry Bockus and Cheryl Turner are two recently retired speech-language pathologists who have seen first hand what is happening with teachers and students in Saskatchewan schools. They join Evan to discuss their opinions on the challenges that schools are currently navigating and make some suggestions for change.

10:00 – On Thursday, the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation announced a one-day strike that will be happening for teachers in the province next week on January 16th. The strike might just be the start of further job action, as we have yet to hear what steps the STF might take afterwards. Saskatchewan’s Education Minister, Jeremy Cockrill, joins Evan to offer the ministry’s perspective on today’s teachers strike.
