Dallas and two of his sons from Baillie Boys Towing join Evan to chat about how an ATV helped pull a truck out of a frozen lake.

9:00 – Just over one year after it was formed, the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) has released its first report. The report details an investigation into an injured suspect in a June incident involving Regina police, finding police free of wrongdoing. SIRT executive director, Gregory Gudelot, joins Evan to talk about the first completed final report and how the teams first year in action went.

9:30 – The the war on Ukraine in 2022, the price of potash doubled. However, Saskatchewan only saw about a quarter of the windfall from those increased profits. Economist Erin weir joins Evan Bray to share why he believes the province should be collecting more of those dollars.

Saskatoon police are once again alerting the public about the grandparent emergency scam going around in Saskatoon, where fraudsters pretend to be a family member in distress to defraud people of large amounts of money. Here to share more details about the scam with our listeners is Det. Staff Sergeant Matt Bradford of the Saskatoon Police Service’s Economic Crime Section.

12:00 – A graduate student at the University of Saskatchewan is investigating the levels of carbon emissions from the forage production process to figure out how it is affecting our economy and the environment. Judson Christopherson is hoping to determine the carbon cost of cattle forage production — a process that requires many healthy plants to feed cattle to raise a healthy herd — so that better policies can be made to support beef producers in their industry. He joins Evan to talk about his research and what it could mean for Saskatchewan producers.
