Three people have been arrested and face several charges after an assault with a weapon in the Fairhaven neighbourhood on Wednesday.
Around 1:30 p.m., Saskatoon police learned about an altercation between a group of people at a home in the 400 block of Fairmont Drive.
When officers arrived, residents told them that five people they didn’t know had been sitting on their patio.
The homeowner reportedly confronted the people and told officers he was threatened and physically assaulted when he did.
The suspects were reported to be armed with a knife and a collapsible baton. When they were confronted by another resident of the home, the group ran away from the home on foot.
Three suspects were found and arrested in a nearby park. In their possession was a baton, two knives, brass knuckles and ammunition.
The homeowner suffered minor physical injuries, according to police.
Two men and a woman are now facing charges. Both men were wanted on outstanding warrants and face charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and carrying a concealed weapon.
The woman, 27, is charged with willfully obstructing a peace officer.
