A 26-year-old man is dead after a hit-and-run Friday evening near Cut Knife.
According to the RCMP, officers from the Cut Knife detachment got a call Friday at around 8 p.m., about a collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 40 approximately two kilometres east of the town.
The Mounties and paramedics responded and found a man from the Ahtahkakoop First Nation who had been hit by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police said neither the vehicle nor its driver has been located, so they’re asking for the public’s help.
Anyone who was driving on Highway 40 east of Cut Knife between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, or who has any other information about the crash, is asked to call the Cut Knife RCMP at 306-398-3500.
