Tom Cochrane has cancelled his Friday show in Prince Albert.
The musician announced Wednesday he didn’t want to perform at the EA Rawlinson Centre while CUPE 882 members were still on strike.

Cochrane isn’t the first act to cancel a show in Prince Albert since CUPE 882 members hit the picket line. In October, Bear Grease, an Indigenous rendition of the classic musical, and Middle Raged, a live sketch comedy production from Geri Hall and Gary Pearson, both postponed their shows.
In a release, the City of Prince Albert said it respects each artist’s decision but it’s still disappointed.
“The City has put a fair offer on the table to raise their annual earnings even further, and, unfortunately, the patrons of the Rawlinson Centre will not be able to enjoy the show because the local union executive wants more,” the release said.
Refunds will be available in the coming days.
Cochrane has also stated he is open to finding a makeup date after the strike is over.
