Police in Saskatoon say charges are pending after a suspected impaired driver crashed into a tree on Whiteswan Drive.
Officers were called to the street on Saskatoon’s north end at around midnight on Monday night, when they found the vehicle with a 23-year-old passenger still inside.
The driver, a 34-year-old man, was outside the vehicle when officers arrived, police said.

“He was found further down the block on the sidewalk and is believed to have been under the influence of an intoxicant,” police said in a statement.
Traffic restrictions were put in place as a collision analyst investigated the crash, police said, but the road has since been opened to traffic.
Both the driver and passenger were taken to hospital for treatment, but police said their injuries weren’t believed to be serious.
“Charges are currently pending,” police added.
