An SUV crashed into an apartment building in Saskatoon’s downtown on Tuesday afternoon.
First responders were on the scene at 25th Street and Third Avenue shortly after the crash, which appeared to have knocked a balcony off of the building.
“Initial information suggests injuries to the driver are minor in nature,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, the driver was the only person injured, and the damaged balcony was removed.
“A construction crew conducting interior renovations was on site and will be conducting immediate repairs to the balcony,” the department added.
Traffic was still flowing after the crash, though 25th Street between Second and Third avenues was restricted to a single lane of westbound traffic. In an update issued just after 5 p.m., police said all the traffic restrictions in the area had been lifted.
