A man and a woman in a stolen vehicle allegedly rammed a police car during a chase in Saskatoon on Sunday evening.
According to police, officers tried to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen on St. Charles Avenue. The driver didn’t stop, police said, and “began driving erratically” on Clarence Avenue and then Circle Drive before eventually heading out of the city on Grasswood Road.
Officers used tire deflation devices multiple times to try to bring the chase to an end, but the driver hit a ditch on Highway 219 and allegedly reversed into a police vehicle before jumping out and making a bid for freedom on foot.
Police said the driver was arrested after the foot chase with help from a police dog, which bit and injured the driver. He was assessed at the scene by paramedics.
