The calendar campaign for STARS is one of the organization’s biggest and longest-running fundraisers.
The campaign has been running since 1994, and has raised millions for the life-saving service.
The air rescue service is continuing a long-standing partnership with Viterra to help make its 2024 campaign possible. Viterra will cover the full printing costs – for the ninth consecutive year – which adds up to about $2 million in value for STARS.
Kyle Jeworski, CEO of Viterra Canada, said his organization is proud of the long-standing partnership.
“In addition to our annual corporate support, we also make the calendars available for purchase across our asset network,” Jeworksi said in a statement.
The CEO said his team works hard to sell as many calendars as possible to help generate funds for STARS.
Daryl Johnson, who works as a family assistant at Viterra’s Melfort facility, learned firsthand how essential the air rescue can be when his son Greg was injured in a farming accident.
“I had just arrived to work the afternoon shift when I received a phone call that Greg was in an accident,” Johnson said in a statement.
“STARS was able to land right at the farm, saving valuable time and providing critical medical care to Greg on the way to the hospital.”
Following surgery and a long recovery, Greg is now back at work.
“Greg, his fiancee Taylor, and our entire family are forever thankful and grateful to have such an important service available in our province,” Johnson added.
STARS calendars will be sold until Dec. 1 at Viterra locations and online.
