8:30 – Canada has issued a travel advisory for LGBTQ people who visit the United States. This had Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland defending the advisory and the professionals who monitor if dangers to particular groups of Canadians exist. 12:00 – We have all seen the cost increase when sending kids to school. A new study from the Fraser Institute “Education Spending in Public Schools in Canada, 2023 Edition.” looked at it and discovered that 8 out of 10 provinces have seen record increases in spending for students in public schools. Only Saskatchewan and Alberta saw a decrease in spending. Michael Zwaagstra is a senior fellow at the Fraser Institute and co-author of the study. He joins Gormley to explain how much is spent on kids to attend public schools.
