Saskatoon’s 2023 Fall Hospital Home Lottery grand-prize showhome is open for viewing in Edgemont Park Estates, a 10-minute drive from Stonebridge.
The lottery benefits the foundations supporting Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital, City Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital, and tickets and more information on the draws can be found on the lottery website.
The $1.5-million grand-prize home, which features high, vaulted ceilings and full-height windows, is awarded fully furnished, decorated and landscaped, along with $50,000 in cash.
“With over 2,600 feet of living space, a gourmet kitchen, and a lower level with a lounge space and wet bar, this family home has it all,” the lottery wrote in a statement.
The home features four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and a fireplace on the lower level.
“One of the most interesting features of this great living room is the 14 foot window,” said Steve Shannon, CEO of Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation and chair of the fall Hospital Home Lottery.
“From the home to downtown is a shorter travel distance than Greenbryre would be.”
Shannon said his favourite part of the house is the doors that blend in with the walls. The home is hiding a couple of secrets as well.
“In the basement closet, there is a cubby hole, and when you crawl through the cubby hole you can stand up into a room,” said Shannon.
“I call it the great escape room. Never tell your kids, never tell your family about it, but if you want to escape you go down there and you have your own private area no one knows about.”

Candle Lake cottage early bird draw is Oct. 13, 2023
This fall’s early bird prize is a 1,500-square-foot cottage at Candle Lake, “a stunning chalet-inspired retreat that is bright and spacious with year-round functionality.”
The cottage – which is also open for public viewing – boasts a double-sided stone fireplace, pine ceilings and a spacious kitchen with an island.
“It’s actually right on the golf course up in Candle Lake,” said Shannon.
The early bird deadline is set for Oct. 13.
“There is also a VIP prize, which is a 28-day trip to New Zealand, or you can take the $30,000,” said Shannon. “The VIP deadline is coming up a week from this Friday, on Sept. 1.”
Tickets for the lottery are $100 each, with lower prices available for packages.
