There were ‘no regrets’ from those who attended night one of Rock 102’s Rock the River Friday evening. The Bessborough Hotel gardens were packed for the sold out festival.
Night one featured bands like Streetheart and Honeymoon Suite, and the show finished with headliner Tom Cochrane.
The energy from the crowd was electric, explained Jocelyn Turrell from Saskatoon.
“No matter where I am, music is something I absolutely love, and coming together with a crowd and screaming the lyrics to Life is a Highway (is a) one in a lifetime opportunity,” she said.
Johnnie Dee, lead singer of the rock band Honeymoon Suite, was glad to be back in Saskatoon.
“It was amazing, these people are great,” he said, adding there isn’t a favourite song that he performs, he loves all of them.
He said he remembers the feeling he had his first time on stage at 15 years old, and still feels that same energy today. The music festival continues for the rest of the weekend.
