The RCMP is on the lookout for a man whom police allege threatened a driver with a gun on Highway 55 near Pierceland.
The Mounties say the incident happened just before noon on Wednesday. The driver told police they had stopped their vehicle at the side of Highway 55 when a man approached and threatened the driver with a gun.
The individual got back in their car, drove away and called police.
Officers from the Pierceland RCMP detachment started patrolling for the suspect, but didn’t find him. Police now are asking members of the public to call in information about the incident to police.
“The suspect is described as an older male, with a heavy build and balding white hair,” the police said in a media release. “He was wearing a black cowboy hat, a blue plaid shirt, brown suspenders, black boots and wire-framed glasses. He was driving a green tractor hauling hay bales.”
