Two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old girl in Saskatoon in November.
On Nov. 18, the girl was walking with her family near the intersection of 20th Street West and Avenue Q South when a car pulled up alongside the family and one of the occupants shot the girl.
She was taken to hospital with what police called “non-life-threatening injuries.”
On July 12, Saskatoon police investigators went to a correctional facility in Prince Albert and arrested a 34-year-old man who was in custody on unrelated charges.
Then, on July 19, the Prince Albert RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team found and arrested a 28-year-old man who was wanted on a warrant issued after the shooting.
The men were charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful transport of a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of a firearm without a licence, and unlawfully occupying a motor vehicle in which a firearm was present. The 34-year-old also was charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited.
