Saskatoon man Tasered by police after allegedly swinging knife

Saskatoon police deployed a conducted energy device after a man allegedly reached for a weapon when police tried to arrest him.

Police were called to the scene on Saturday at 11:56 p.m., after a man was reportedly threatening people with a knife.

When Saskatoon police arrived in the 200 block of Underhill Way, the man was non-compliant.

After the Taser was deployed, the man was taken into custody. He was medically assessed by paramedics, then taken to jail.

A 20-year-old man is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of assault with a weapon.
