Three people were arrested Thursday after a man walked into a business on Idylwyld Drive asking for help.
According to police, the 42-year-old victim said he was at a business on 33rd Street West late Wednesday night when a woman asked him for a ride. Police said the victim drove the woman to 36th Street West, “where he was then assaulted by a group of people, robbed of his property, and taken to an address in the 1500 block of Avenue F North to be unlawfully confined.”
Police did not say whether the man escaped or was released, but said he made his way to the business where he asked staff members to help him.
The investigation led officers to Westview Place, where they spotted three people near the victim’s stolen vehicle. All three were arrested, police said, and they were found to be carrying the victim’s belongings along with methamphetamine and cocaine.
Two women, aged 34 and 31, and a 26-year-old man are now facing charges of robbery, unlawful confinement and assault, police said. The younger woman is also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
