A Regina man faces break-and-enter and resisting arrest charges after a standoff at a home in Yorkton.
Yorkton RCMP said its officers responded to a report of a man in possession of a firearm while inside a home located on Maple Avenue in Yorkton on Tuesday morning at around 9:15 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers were able to confirm the man was inside the home and there were no other occupants.
Police said the man refused to follow their instruction to exit.
RCMP later set up a perimeter around the home to maintain public and officer safety.
Officers executed a search warrant to enter the residence and were able to locate and arrest the man without further incident, police said.
According to the RCMP, the man also had an arrest warrant from the Regina Police Service.
