Have you ever just run out of ideas?
An unoriginal 35-year-old man is facing robbery charges after allegedly stealing cigarettes from the same business twice in one day.
According to police, officers were called to a business on Pendygrasse Road at about 4 a.m. Wednesday for a reported armed robbery, which saw a suspect stealing cigarettes before fleeing.
Then, just before 12:30 p.m., officers got a case of déjà vu when they received a report of a masked man committing an armed robbery at the same business. The second robbery was similar to the first one, police said, as the suspect took off with more stolen smokes.
Police said witnesses saw the man changing his clothes while he was running away, and a search by officers – including the Canine Unit – led to the man’s arrest without further incident.
The 35-year-old, whom police said is “believed to be responsible for both robberies,” is now facing charges. He also was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants when he was arrested.
