The Saskatchewan RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating a black 2012 Cadillac Escalade SUV the Mounties say was stolen in Prince Albert early Tuesday.
The RCMP said the SUV, which has Saskatchewan licence plate 190 MVF, was reported stolen at about 9:30 a.m. The Mounties said the suspect may be armed, but they couldn’t confirm that.
“Melfort RCMP have conducted proactive patrols in the James Smith Cree Nation and surrounding communities,” the RCMP said in a media release.
“Melfort RCMP initially recommended a hold-and-secure to the community as a precaution, which has since been lifted. Officers continue to provide regular updates to the leadership in James Smith Cree Nation as the investigation progresses.”
Police said they don’t know the location of the vehicle or its destination.
Anyone who sees the SUV was urged not to approach it but instead to call police immediately at 911 or at their local detachment or police station.
