Emergency repairs on a section of rail track on 22nd Street will take longer than first anticipated.
According to the City of Saskatoon, the work taking place between Avenue D and Avenue H has been extended until Wednesday evening as Canadian Pacific Kansas City Rail works to repair the rail track.
The city said 22nd Street will remain closed between avenues D and H, and the work will also bring a halt to traffic at the intersections of 22nd Street and avenues E, F and G.
“Business access between Avenue G and Avenue H will remain open,” the city noted in a statement.
“Detours will be in place guiding motorists around the work zone. Motorists can expect delays in this area while construction is underway and are asked to choose alternate routes if possible or plan for delays.”
The city said the closures will also affect transit service on routes 3, 60 and 65.
